With the latest beta, WhatsApp finally seems close to one of the features that the users have long been demanding. WhatsApp for Android is likely to receive the dark mode quite soon. Of course, the feature is available on beta as of now, but we expect it to arrive on the public release very soon enough.

The Dark Mode is one of the important features that Google has been pushing for long and something that the users on the Android platform have come to fall in love with. It is said to save your battery and also save a lot of screen life. Whatever be the reason, it is one of the sought of feature and the WhatsApp users on Android will soon have access to it.

The news was first broken by WABetaInfo and was confirmed with the availability of the beta version and the APK teardown. The Beta version 2.20.13 has the Dark Mode feature and the users who are on beta have already received the functionality on their app.

You just need to move to WhatsApp Settings and then Chat to find the option to turn on the Dark Mode. You have four options currently available under the settings – a dark mode that switches to dark mode irrespective of your theme and other settings, a default mode that mimics the default setting you have used through your Android settings, a light theme which is the same as the one you get as of now on the stable version and a battery saver option that can change themes as per your configurations.

The other two Facebook siblings have already received it – Messenger got the dark mode in early 2019 and Instagram received access to the dark mode in October last year. The dark mode may be expected on iOS 13 as well along with the stable release on Android.
